Iams and eukanuba is the same company and it is being sued out the butt right now for giving wrong food suggestions and for how the treated the dogs they were using for experimentation. Solid gold and innova are both wonderful foods at the high end. I use Nutro natural choice lamb and rice for my dogs and have no problems with it as it is on the higher end of foods you can get in petstores. For itching and allergies i would definitely recommend seeing a vet allergies can be anything from food, dirt, grass, ragweed, you name it they can be allergic to it

Wow, glad I am not using the IAMS brand anymore, doesn't sound very good. Thanks for the info Rottymommy. I will be going on Saturday morn., hopefully I can get some more suggestions from them.

Sugar: I paid $11.39 for a small bag at The Kennel Shop. The size amt. on the bag was not in "lay" terms so to speak, lol, it says its 3kgs' (3 kilograms?)I was looking for the total oz.'s like my laundry detergent, hee hee. The bag is a bit larger than a small bag of IAMS puppy food. Expensive for my budget but IF it works it will be worth it and I will continue to buy it. Might have to bring back some bottles ( we have a bottle redemption law in Maine) for some extra cash to feed this mutt!

Thanks everyone, will let know also how vet visit goes.
Bye Bye for now!

the bag of innova does cost more than what you would pick up at your local petstore; however, since it has less fillers the portions are smaller and therefore you are paying almost the same amount..

I had a keeshond who have passed away several years ago. Anyway she had allergies to eveything under the sun. We litterly had to take her to get allergy testing . We spent 4,000 bucks in vet bills alone in 2 years. She was allergic to pennicilan, cigerette smoke, FLEAS, pollen, grass. She also had to get shots and eat a lamb and rice based food without dyes in it. Use a special shampoo I got from the vets for about 8 dollars. WE have to be perfect on putting frontline stuff on her for fleas. The vet had to redflag her for the penicillan alergy. One time they made a mistake and I wasn't back ther. They brought her out and she was swelling up.
Anyway in the long run the changes we made did the trick and she lived a happy healthy life. Good luck.

Sugar, Just one thing I picked up in one of your earlier posts - be careful not to give her too many choccy treats. Too much chocolate in any form can be very bad for dogs.

I'm not saying this is causing the itching, but I don't think it would be helping.
