I've got a 3 week old pup and he has these little bumps (about 20 ) on the top of his head. The got flakly skin on them and I'm not sure what to do with them. He also has about 10 little skin bumps on his lower tummy. Has anyone ever seen these or know what to do.

They could be insect bites..I would take it to the vet and have it checked out.It also could be allergies.I do have one question, why did you get you pup at 3 weeks? That is very young. Is something wrong with its mom?

That is really a great thing you are doing.I am glad to hear that they are doing great.Has the pup been trying to scratch the bumps?I would take him to the vet and have the skin scraped. After that they should be able to tell you exactly what it is and how to treat it.Good luck and please keep us posted on the lil guy..

He hasn't been doing nothing much but sleeping and eating. I don't know if he realizes that they are there, since he still is so young. Thanks for all your help Pitbull_Princess1979! I'll keep you updated!

This could be mange, which is treatable with dips from the vet. What did the mother die from,Do you know?

I don't think it's mange, but I will ask the vet. The bumps on his head seem to be getting better. I'm not sure how the mom died, but the pups are doing very well! The vet might tell me to wait it out since he's still so young.

Just thought I would let ya'll now that I took the puppy to the vet today (because I found worms in his poop). He's fine just a little case of wring worm. Anyhow, I asked the vet about his bumps and she did some test on him and found out it was just a bacteria and gave us some medicine and that he'll be fine in a couple of days!

Thats one I comletely forgot about(ringworm) People can catch that too, if you get itchy skin try using lotrimine for athletes foot it is good for ringworm on humans too. I am glad your puppy is on the mend, good job mom. Worms in his poop too, were they shaped like rice, if so that was tapeworm. Poor little puppy. Good thing he has you.

Hey Puttin510,

They were more of a long, skinny, white color. I have to take them back in 2 weekes to get the rest of the de-worm medicine and by then they'll get there first shots!
I would have never thought they would make it this far!!
