I have a pit bull and when I adopted her fromthe shelter her paper said she was allergic to grass, the other day when my husband took her for her walk she ate some tall grass the next day she was broken out with bumps on her upper back and neck. It does'nt seem to hurt her but it is hard to tell because of the tolerance to pain pit bulls have, I need to know what I should do,she did vomit up a bunch of grass and she is still eating and playing just fine. I have made sure she hasn't eatten anymore, she always tries everytime we are outside.
Thanks for your Help

The grass won't harm him if he eats it. Unless their is some sort of fertilizer just put on. They like to eat it i think for settling their stomaches sometimes. As for the bumps, my terrier used to get them when he would lay in it. I don't have the faintest idea if his diet had anything to do with it. We had gone thru a few different foods until we stopped on innova. He doesn't get then bumps on his belly anymore. It could be coinsidental. Do the stops generally go away after an hour or two. That is what would happen to my Rufus. I don't really like my poodle to each much grass because you just never know when or where she may throw it up,Yuck. But clean grass is not going to kill them.

Congrats and thank-you for rescuing this dog!

Now, I have a very sensitive guy who will break out like that if he is allergic. My vet told me to give him one tablet of Chlortriplon (sp?) and all is good. He's a big guy tho..about 90 lbs...so maybe give half the pill if your dog is lighter...also I do suggest having the vet check out the dog first. See what your vet would recommend.

Just to let you know, there is also a Pit Bull forum here...lotts of Pitty lovers here...so any questions on behavior etc...please don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers
