My dog, a shitzu, has just be dignosed with parvo. It has been 3 nights now and he is still alive. His vomitting and diareah has slowed a little bit since yesterday.(4/21) I was wondering if anybody else has had a dog survive the parvo virus. and even if you haven't, does anyone know if with todays technology that my dog may live? thanks. i really love my dog and hope you lives. With the technologies today and getting the pup to a vet on time they can survive. I really believe that there will to live is a big player in their survival. If he is still at the vet visit him as often as possible and just sit and talk to him. Honestly, some survive and some dont. The best thing you can do is be there for your baby, tell your dog it will be alright and you will be there for your dog. Just your presence can help your dog fight even harder. Keep us posted on your pup. IP: Logged |

My dog caught Parvo when he was about 3 months old. He's still alive today, but took a week of hospitalization and took a huge chunk outta my pocket book...I'd do the same thing again if I had to...he's irreplacable (sp?)... Good luck...make sure the vets taking care of him and don't bring into public..this disease is VERY contagious...very serious disease..try and bleech wherever the dog was to try and prevent other dogs from being infected. Good luck and prayers be with you and the little one. IP: Logged |

my grandmother had a dog that had parvo and lived for 14 years. Buttons was a mixed breed and it cost them about $800 dollars to save him but as you can see he lived a pretty long and healthy life. don't give up on your little pup. Good luck. IP: Logged |

Sorry for not posting sooner but i lost this address! Well, Bandit is home and is back to his old self! Thank God he survived it! BTW - just a note, i tried to visit my dog but they would not let me see him because of the possibility of me transferring the virus. But i did call and check on him every 3 or 4 hours!! Thanks guys.. IP: Logged |
