Hi, I have a 4 1/2 old male papillon I just got him on 4/17 right now he is on purina puppy chow, that is what he has been eating. I want to slowly get him on either Euckanuba, Science diet or Bil-Jac. I am not sure which one is better, there is not a big difference in price range so that is what I am looking to stay in? Any better food available at Petsmart for around the same price? Thanks......Sandy...... IP: Logged |

Innova Canidae Wellness Wysong California Naturals Solid Gold to name a few... Remember these foods wont have the fillers, therefor you feed less and they get more out of their food. SO in the long run its better. IP: Logged |

Great choices JP, but you won't find them at Petsmart. Sandy, do some checking at local feed stores or specialty pet stores. It is well worth it for the quality in these foods. IP: Logged |

I wouldn't feed any of the three you listed, personal opinion of course. The Whole Dog Journal is a great place to learn about dog food, what to look for in a dog food and what you don't want in it and why. The foods JP listed are great, I feed Precise, and I have to purchase it at a local Groomers shop, she has a small retail side to her shop and sells the foods JP mentioned. I switch to Canidae about every four months. I have read and my vet agreed that feeding the same food all the time can cause food allergies, so I switch around, but I switch them over slowly by mixing the new food with the old. Every dog is different and some do better on one than another...but the group of brand names listed above have good quality ingredients and thats what is important. Smiles on you and your pups, Maisey IP: Logged |
