I have a 5 year old German Shorthair Pointer, he is a very sweet, smart dog he is also an escape artist. Elwood is not nuetered he have bred him several times but now just want him for a pet. If we neuter him at his age will it have any affect on his bad behavior problems or will he continue escaping, marking his territory and not listening.

Neutering him will at least open the opertunity for change...not neutering him will not change the current and there for not allow for the opertunity of change to occur.

In my personal experience...neutered dogs do calm down and tend to be less focused on getting out and intent on other dogs.
