Just recently I had to put my 7 wk old yorkie down because of either Parvo, or Coccidia. The parvo came up very little on the test, and could of been because of the vacinations. Anyways, if anyone has had experiece with parvo, or know what helps to kill it PLEASE let me know. Or e-mail me at Panther2003@comcast.net Thanks *I really want to get my puppy in may or june, So please tell me something that kills fast!!!* Thanks alot ~Malteseof2003~ IP: Logged |

I just got done, spraying our two porches with bleach water, then I washed them with plain water. Will that help kill parvo? IP: Logged |

Dr. Silver of Pima Animal Control is the source for our medical information this issue. Q. How long does the Parvo virus survive in soil, grass, or sand? A. The Parvo Virus can be active and communicable for several months after its introduction into soil. Q. Can I treat an area with known Parvo exposure? A. Yes. Periodic treatment of the area with a 15:1 ratio of water to bleach solution can be sprayed on the area and will kill any active Parvo. IP: Logged |

Bleach is the only thing that kills Parvo. My puppy was in the hospital for a week with it and almost died. My vet said that if he died I would need to wait at least 6 months to get another puppy even disinfecting with bleach. Parvo can remain in soil, etc. for YEARS. You might want to make sure your new puppy has had ALL shots before bringing it to your home. Also consult your vet about this. Am very sorry to hear about your puppy and hope things go better next time. IP: Logged |

He had to be put down about 2-3 weeks ago, and we've been disinfecting as much as we can. I will prolly get one in May (end) or June is that good enough? IP: Logged |
