Hello,

A friend has just brought home a Pug Puppy...he is oh so cute, but he has a biting problem. He is always grabbing peoples hands when they go to pet him and biting. How do I get him to stop biting?

Any advise for someone who soley deals with Pit Bulls....I don't want to use those techniques on such a small fragile dog.

Is a choker appropriate for this breed?

What health defects do they get as they age?

I recommend when he goes to bite, hold his mouth shut and firmly say "NO"...If that doesn't work.next time he bites just ignore him for a few minutes..do that everytime he trys to bite.
I think that a small choker chain should be ok.

If one of my pups try to bite i just bite them back on their ear..That works for me...They never try to bite me again...lol..

Hi Pit Princess,
LOL
I tried holding his mouth shut, but it's sooooo flat...there's nothing to hold...and he always gets one of my fingers...ouch such sharp little teeth.

He's a hyper lil guy...very cute...my dog plays very nice with him and doesn't even mind when the lil guy runs behind and grabs his tail....so cute to watch.

We could watch dogs play all day long, its so fun to watch them!!!

Just try saying OUCH!!!!! and then silent treatment for 2 minutes.

A tiny pug and a big PB lol, that must be hilarious, please take some pics.

Hey there Russ....long time no hear!

Yes it is very darling to watch...Poor Duke's face is all nipped at..the lil guy charges strait for his face and grabs his lips..then pulls and runs away...ahhhh so funny. This big PB just sits up and shakes it off. Duke's quite the charachter...did you get the pics...please feel free to post in the PB forum...I'd love for everyone to see him.

I agree with Russ also....
I bet it is cute to watch your babies play.I have a 1/2 basset 1/2 beagle and he loves to play with all the other dogs. They are so fun ..He will pull their ears or tall and most of the time they just lay there and let him..He has the small dog wanna be big dog complex...lol...
