Advice anyone, I have a wonderful 3-year old Norwegian Elkhound who has been diagnosed with chronic lymphoparasitic gastritis. She is currently on a high level dose of corticosteroids (Macrolone), 2 per day for 3 weeks. It makes her quite lethargic and, well, droopy. She doesn't even want to go on her daily walks anymore. I have eliminated all beef from her diet, as it seems to be a vomitting trigger. She can eat lamb, fish and chicken without too much trouble but has the odd vomitting episode when I don't put a 'gravy' with her meal. She was also a dog who loved (and I mean loved) her bones, and I can't give them to her at the moment either. It is breaking my heart as she was such a happy dog previously. I suppose I am hoping that there is someone else who has been through this or something similar and who can give me some advice. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Sarah IP: Logged |

I think you mean "lymphoBLASTIC gastritis'? Yes? IP: Logged |

Whoops! No, I meant lymphoplasmacytic gastritis. Too many 'lympho' things :-) IP: Logged |

Then you're looking at IBD.....Inflammatory Bowel Disease. You're on the right track of diet and all. God bless. IP: Logged |
