I have a 3 year old Jack Russell who starting peeing is the house on anything that has a leg and touches the floor. This has only started in the past 4 months. We also have two cats that we had before we got the dog. The dog has also gets very aggressive when he is told that he has been a "bad boy" and starts to growl which frightens me.

I have been told that the dog is marking its territory because of the cats and the neutering him will help. But now after reading other comments on this web site I find out the it may not make a difference.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Annette, as I have posted this in the past and have used this on mine, I found childrens underware works great for a Dog WEE WEE problem. First they dont like it, second at least it gives you a chance to catch him..when you take him outside then take them off. I use mostly the lil boys undewre cuz where the fly is you can put the dogs tail thru that opening..I know it sounds silly but it works. Try to clean all the areas he has marked. With JRTs and a few other breeds they have a attitude along with their owner has to have alot of energy to keep up with em. I call jack russells a nickname (spiderman) due to these dogs are very capable of alot of suprising, amazing things such as climbing trees etc ...
Well good luck and hang in there, oh by the way is he or she a smooth coat? Another thing is I don't think (neut) is the answer, but if you are not going to breed him then I would do it sooner than later, due to him already being 3 yrs old...With small dogs I dont like to see them put under anesth. at older ages unless its a life or death situation.
