I have a 5 bls. toy poodle about 1 year old, and are thinking about getting a rotweiler puppy. Will my poodle be safe when the rotweiller grows up? Do large puppy know how much bigger they are than little ones?

Back in the early 90's when I showed and raised chi's, there was a party that wanted to buy one from me and they had a adult rot. I thought to myself NO WAY, lunch for the rot. People expressed to me and they were my neighbors also that the rot was a very nutering type personality. So I went over to visit and took the puppy with me. They got along great, I still at that point did not leave my puppy which at time prob only weighed 1 lb..went again to see how they reacted..Rot was so happy to see this spec of life..So I decided it was ok..These two in their case loved each other. So I say it depends on the dogs themselves. This past yr my pup 12 yrs. passed away. Rot is still whining (crying) missing his lil buddy at night from not sleeping with him..they say
Doc~ Rot & Chi had 12 great yrs together

Kt I forgot to say, in your situation it would be the reverse of things. Their rot was already a adult and had been thru all its puppy stuff , ruff housing, playing. With your case I prob would be more concerned cuz of the weight difference and the situation, but a friend of mine that still raises toy chi's has a website called Legend Chihuahuas, she had rots and toys she would be a good one to ask and she has a beautiful site....Good luck Doc~
