Hi there, we have a couple of Mastiff Bitches, one went into heat and we had her bred(she was at the breeders for this) upon her return our other bitch started acting like she was in heat--swollen vulva and raised tail, but no discharge. She is now over this, but we are wondering if anyone else has experience with this behavior with bitches that are kenneled together? IP: Logged |

hi i dont' know too much about breeding to be honest, but i can tell you that i have read that females may go into false heat when other females they are around get pregnant. is your your other bitch pregnant? because if she is, it is not unusual. in the wild they have a tendency to provide milk for other bitches pups and may help to feed and raise them as well. if you have any questions, i suggest you ask a more experienced breeder or a vet. As far as we can tell the other bitch is preggers, she will be 30 days on the 3rd of Dec. and I will do a palp of her then. The other bitch got over her 'heat' at long last! IP: Logged |
