We have a problem with a new pet in the house. We have had a mixed breed 1 1/2 year old dog for about 1.5 months. We were told by the rescue organization that we got her from that she was house broken. We also have 2 cats in the house (been there for 10 years.) The dog about once every other day urinates in my daughters room or nearby. This happens to be where one cat lives, and we thought it was territorial, but it happens when there has been no interaction with the cats at all. We have caught her half a dozen times, and we firmly tell her that is not allowed, but we don't seem to be getting through. HELP! IP: Logged |

Usually its the males that like to mark their territory, but that doesn't mean tht females will not join in the fun! Could be the nervousness/stress of moving to a new place, could be the smell of felines around, could also be an internal medical problem-usually other complications will be evident if this were the case.
