We will be getting a very small 6 week old male toy poodle. We presently have a 5 yr. old shy female sheltie. The sheltie(Raven) has been to obedience school when she was one year to help her with socializing. She had been lunging and barking aggressively (on leash) at other dogs on our walks. Well being as intelligent as she is, she finished at the top of her class in obedience doing her training, off leash. She has come along way to allowing dogs to sniffing her and not freaking out.Very rarely does she lunge or bark.I'm concerned though that she may pass on some overly strict methods of initializing top rank with this impressionable young toy poodle. I thought a male might be a better choice. IP: Logged |
