Are these good dogs to own? I've been reading they are hard to train.

Bischon's are wonderful dogs to own. I was like you and read a lot before buying one. I have had mine one year and it's been the best dog I've ever owned. He is not at all hard to train. They are so eager to please they get upset with themselves if they see you are mad and they almost cry when you are scolding them. They are quick to learn. My dog was easy to house train, easy to train obedience and tricks. He is the most loving dog I have ever owned. I highly recommend Bishons. The only draw back is the grooming. Their coats matt easily so you have to brush often.
