SOURCE OF PROBLEM? I hope your cats are doing better. I have the same dilemma. For the last 4 days my oldest cat has been vomiting white frothy spit, which I think is a sign of dehydration, from what you guys are saying. He will not eat or drink, and I have been forcing water which he gags on. I am wondering- has anyone w/ cat w/similar symptoms recently using Adams Flea Spray or Carpet Flea Spray (or similar chemical)? That is the only thing that I have done that is new. It says you can spray the animal, and my other cats are fine, but this is the only change, and I am wondering if he licked some of it off a surface, or breathed too much by accident, or if I put too much on his body? YOUR OBSERVATIONS PLEASE. IP: Logged |

Hello. I think those flea sprays are terrible for pets. There was a news story on these products a few night ago. I think you could be right in thinking he got too much flea spray into his system. You really need to take your cat to the vets a.s.a.p. These products can make cats very sick or worse yet, kill them. Don't use the spray anymore. In some cases where pets have an allegic reaction to cheap flea drops like Hertz, you can wash it off your cat with warm water and then go to the vets. However, your cat sounds very ill and I wouldn't think bathing him is a very good idea right now. I would have the vet bath him and give him medication. If you can't get to a vet today, then try and wash off the flea spray from his body, but make sure you dry him off with a warm (not hot) hair drier. You don't want to let your cat get cold, when he's this sick. If it was my cat, I would call around and find a vet near you a.s.a.p. Also, everything you sprayed, take it out (if possible) of your home. I don't know why we let these companies sell these cheap pet products. They do more harm than good. I use advantage flea drops for my cat. It cost $10 per dose and goes behind their neck once a month. Let us know how your cat is doing.
