Hey, I need help...my cat is kinda sick and I don't know what to do. He's only six years old, but lately, like in the past week, he hasn't been eating much and has been sleeping a lot, and he hides under beds and stuff and when I ever try to pick him up he meows really really loud. He's not skinny or anything cause he's still huge...but I have no idea what to do and if he ever dies I would be miserable

does anybody's cats ever done this before??

Take him to a vet...If he meows when you pick him up, that is a sign that something is wrong...especially if his energy has gone down. Is he drinking still? Does he have a temperature? A cat's temp should be between 100-102.5 degrees. Your vet will make your kitty better, as long as you get him there Keep us posted please.

Hey justine,
yes my daughter's cat did that. Her problem was an ear infection. She did have fever sometime. Food allergies caused it as a secondary infection. She was also given a steroid shot after which she was remarkably better in a short time. My cat does that if she is mad at me about her food being differant or she has been scolded or other cats that she does not like are in the house. did you say your cat also has had the leukimia vaccination? I'll watch for your outcome. please post it. happy kitty!

I dont mean to upset you at all, but, if he isnt drinking, that means he is dehydrated. Not good.... Did you take his temperature? You got to get him to eat and drink something asap. When my kitties were sick, I had to feed them and give them water with a syringe. They shouldnt go more than 24 hours without eating or drinking. If you have a syringe, try that. You may also want to try more 'tempting' food. Maybe warm it up a little in a microwave....but be careful not to make it hot.... Also, do you have an animal hospital or emergency vet in your area so you can take him today? I would look into this in case something like this happens again. If getting him to the vet today is out of the question, take him 1st thing Monday morning. Keep us posted!! Good luck What is your kitty's name???
