I've talked about Wolverine before, usually in reference to food, but it's REALLY getting out of hand!! he eats his cat food all the time, which is a good thing. but now, he's gotten the bad habit of stealing food off the table. I turn around for literally one second, and he's got our dinner in his mouth! when he's not stealing, he's begging. incessantly. he will go and sit in front of the refrigerator and meow really loud. I can handle the begging. it's the stealing, i'm not sure how to stop. I think he's addicted to food or something. anyone have any thoughts? IP: Logged |

My oldest cat is like this also. He would always beg for the food while I was eating, try nabbing food right out of the fridge every time I opened it and would grab food right off the table if I had my back turned. When feeding canned food...he would inhale his and then start grabbing food off the other cats plates with his paws. This behavior has improved greatly over the past few years. I think he's gotten the idea that I am watching even if I appear not to be and he has become more reluctant to grab from the table and off the other cats plates. I've learned never to leave food out unattended and if I have to get up and get something during dinner I watch him out of the corner of my eye so I can turn around quickly and tell him No! I push him out of the way with my foot when I open the fridge and I never give him food from the table or my plate while Im eating no matter how persistant he is. Doing all these things has definately seemed to make a difference. IP: Logged |
