HEllo all

I like the idea and really want one. (jack is the kinda cat who after he uses the box once he wont go in the box again until its clean!! but i can understand that its kinda gross if you think about it) it would be a great help. but i am a college student who really cant afford $340 and up for a litter box, plus i was looking at them, I am not even sure jack would use it!! but i would like to find something that would be cheaper and would work kinda like the litter robot. any suggestions??

I have not found anything else that would work as well, except perhaps the kind that plug into your sewer system and flush themselves. But those are expensive, too.

I think the Litter Robot is $300 where I saw it, but there was a 30-day guarantee so if the cat won't use it or you hate it, you can get your money back.

I want to try one as well, but I don't have $300 at the moment!

The Littermaid ones I have read do not work very well at all. I have also read that people really like the Litter Robot.

There is a manual version called Omega Paws (or something like that) that you roll over by yourself (instead of it being automated) that does the same basic thing - sifts the waste into a separate container or somesuch. You might look into that one.

Look at this forum for more info: http://www.litterbox-central.com/forum/

Hard to believe there is a whole forum for litterboxes, eh? This forum may be run by one of the companies that make these products - I'm not sure - so keep that in mind as you read through the posts.

I had one called the littermaid. I think it was between 100-150. I'm not sure. I think it was totally worth it. Especially if you only have a couple of cats. Mine worked great even with 5 but now I have too many so I can't use it.

As I stated in previous posts, I have the Litter Robot and I absolutely LOVE IT!!

Works ALOT better then the Litter Maid, and other automated boxes out there. It's worth every penny I spent on it.

They sell reconditioned robots at a $50 discount. Those are the ones that ppl returned within the 30 days of having it... and they still give you a 18 month full warranty on them, so it's a pretty good deal.

I used the Omega Paw box before I got my Litter Robot. It was ok, definitely better then regular litter boxes, but it needed to be cleaned ALOT because waste always stuck all over the sifting panel and on the bottom.

I thought my littermaid worked great. My cats loved it too. It would occasionally get stuck but usually only if I put too much litter in it.
