We use Tidy Cat now, but it's just not doing the job. What does everyone think of those self-cleaning litterboxes? IP: Logged |

I have 2 kittens - 8 months old, that go to the bathroom ALOT!! And I have an automated box called the "Litter Robot" that I absolutely LOVE!!! I couldn't live without it now, it does an awesome job. I have absolutely no smell whatsoever in my house, and I rarely have to touch the box... only to open the drawer and throw out the bag of waste every few days! It's pretty pricey... but well worth every penny. The upfront cost is more then the Litter Maid and other self cleaning boxes... BUT, it works better and once you buy it, there's no special supplies needed to maintain it. The other self cleaning boxes require you to buy their own special supplies to maintain it (waste cartridges, etc), so it actually ends up costing you more then the Litter Robot in the long run. I highly recommend it. I used to use Tidy Cats, I didn't like it. I now use Arm & Hammer unscented or Pet Gold Plus, both of those kinds work good with no bad odors at all. I use Tidy Cat scoopable litter for multiple cats. It works very well. Arm & Hammer scoopable is also good. I use Tidy Cat now b/c the packaging is more convenient, and it is a little cheaper. My mom likes the Petco brand scoopable kind, but I have never tried it. IP: Logged |

Wow...that litter robot sounds great. $300.00 though.....ouch! Maybe I'll start saving now :-) I went to Ebay and although there were no litter robots there were alot of litter maids for as low as $45.00. I have heard both positive and negative feedback on these. If you can't afford the robot maybe try one of these first. IP: Logged |

It is very rare that you'll ever find a Litter Robot on Ebay... I kept checking too when I was looking to buy, everybody likes them and never sells them! Maybe an Omega Paw box would be good for you now. Check out the reviews on all different litter boxes at: IP: Logged |

Hi. I have 2 kittens and I use Tidy Cats Crystals. It says 1 jug, 1 month, for 1 cat. I dont really even go thru that, and it seems to last a long time. There is no clumping, and all I ever do is scoop out their poop every day and move the crystals around a little. I havent experienced any odors either.  Around here it costs around $7- $8.00 a jug, and I buy about 2 jugs a month, if that. Good luck!IP: Logged |
