I have posted before about my kitty having ear mites. Well, it's been a month and we've applied the second application of Revolution meds .. my question is, how do I know if they are gone? I saw no sign of her actually having them .. but anyway, do I make an appt w/ the vet in another months time? They never actually talked about a follow up when I was there last month. Thx. ------------------ IP: Logged |

The vet said she had ear mites, but you didn't see them? That is unusual. Usually cats with ear mites get brown looking gunk in their ears and their ears are very itchy. As long as her ears are clean and she isn't scratching them you shouldn't need to take her back in. IP: Logged |

He showed me brown gunk on the qtip, but she honestly never scratches her ears. I can't see in them now so I am not sure if they are still there!! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Check her ears periodically and if they are clean and she isn't scratching, then I wouldn't worry. IP: Logged |

You should be able to see in her ears. My cats don't like it, but I can grab them really quickly and get a good look before they dart away disgustedly.

I try to catch mine when they are asleep. By the time they are awake enough to realize what is going on and run away I am done. IP: Logged |
