Hi there me and my cat are trying to figure out what is going on. About 2-4 times a week right after he eat he will throw up whatever it is that he has eaten. He is only 1 year old, maybe it is that he is eating to fast...maybe he needs a new diet, can anyone recomend a new diet for him, he is currently eating nine lives both wet and dry food. Let me know if you have any suggestions he and i will appreciate it -Robin and Tolouse IP: Logged |

Some cats throw up a lot. Or at least that's what I was always told. One of our cats usually throws up a couple times a week, although she seems to be better lately. Sometimes it is caused by hairballs - you might ask your vet about hairball remedies. Changing the food wouldn't be a bad idea, either. We have always fed dry food. There are some excellent premium foods if you can afford them (and can find a place that sells them) such as Innova, Felidae, Eagle Pack, Wellness, and Wysong. Otherwise, foods like Royal Canin and Nutro Max are some good ones to look into.

Maybe there is something in the food that does'nt agree with him. I would try another brand of food and see if that makes a difference...just be sure to switch brands gradually to avoid further digestive upsets. Royal Canin makes a "Sensitive" formula that may be worth trying and Natura makes a limited ingredient brand called California Natural. If he seems to be eating too fast you might be able to slow him down a bit by spreading his food out on a cookie sheet. Good luck. ------------------ IP: Logged |
