My 6 mo kitten has been quite sick. She was throwing up and not eating or drinking. She was at the vet for 3 days last week on IV for her dehydration (they didn't really know what was wrong.) We got her back on Fri. The vet said she wouldn't eat again until we force fed her. It has been 3 days and she still isn't eating or drinking unless we force feed/water her. The vet gave us special food which should be well tolerated. She isn't throwing up and we are giving her antibiotics (also from the vet). I am just worried she isn't getting better. AND I know we aren't feeding or watering her enough. HELP. any suggestions?

Our 7 month old kitten is currently in the same situation. The only thing she will eat is chicken or turkey baby food. She seems to tolerate it pretty well, and then a few hours later she vomits. But not all of it so at least she is getting something down, especially since it's a few hours later. Try some baby food. Make sure it doesn't have any onion powder. Gerbers is good.
Good luck! Isn't it awful hearing them throw up?!?!

You can give her nutrical to supplement her diet. It is a nutrient paste that is rich in fat and protein. It will help your kitten get some strength back. You can get it at the vet's or maybe a pet store.

human baby food contains onion extracts which cats stomachs dont tolerate very well so i would stay away from them unless its something like baby porridge or something like that...

Force feeding any animal can be upsetting and frustrating..

feeding through a syringe every 20-30mins for a couple of days should give her some energy and hopefully pick up..

You could also try boiling some rice and some chicken blend it together and feed her that the chicken contains fats that cats need and the rice helps settle the stomach and stops vomiting due to being light.

you could even try giving her replacement formula that you would give to an orphaned kitten this will aslo give her vitamins she needs..

please keep us posted of her progress
