Hi everyone!! I have joined a few different pet message boards and no one has been kind enough to respond. I have ran across this one so thought I'd try again... Anyway, I have a new almost nine week old kitten, I have had her for almost three weeks. In the very beginning she was using her litter box very well, then about three days ago she started having diarriea poops in my bedroom and in my dining room, in other words outside of litter box. I took her to the vet and they could not find any worms but have given her albon and are treating her for some sort of intestial pariasite, her litter box is in my laundry room and I've put another one upstairs for her to use. Does anyone know of something that I can use to discourage her from using the areas of carpet that she's already soiled?? I've put vinegar on the area already, is there anything else natural and I can try? She is a really sweet girl. Also she eats like a horse, I feed her purina kitten chow, but the way she eats you'd think it was going right through her!! Thanks!! Kelly IP: Logged |

Sounds like it might be going right through her! If she has diarrhea she probably can't control her bowels. Try putting Feliway or something similar on the areas that she has already used. If she is still having diarrhea, the vet can give you something to help stop it. IP: Logged |

I don't know about the diarhea, but try putting Nature's Miracle on the places she has gone. We use it for our dog, and it get's rid of the odor, so he doesn't use it again, but we had to use carpet cleaner to get the stains out. IP: Logged |

You might also try a somewhat better food and see if it helps the diarrhea issue. What was she eating before you got her? Even Purina One is a better food than Kitten Chow. There are also a ton of other VERY good foods but they are expensive. Innova, Eagle Pack, Felidae are some that come to mind. Nutro Max is less pricey but still a good food.

My cat did EXACTLY that. I had her for about 2-3 weeks, everything was great, she used her litter box and everything. Then one day, she started using the corner. I purchased a pet spray to discourage using the spot. She hasn't done it since. IP: Logged |

hi okay the best best no matter what everyone else says is to pick up some of her/his fecies and place them in the litter box assigned to her, i have three cats and they all have they're own litter box and this is how i trained them all to use they're own boxes, if you have any more trouble, please feel free to email me at babyboophoto@hotmail.com IP: Logged |
