Hi everyone

Has anyone ever seen or heard of a cat with red eyes? I have a cat that is either a rescued semi-tame cat or a feral that comes inside my house and he has red eyes. (I say his because he is a red tabby and they are usually male.) His eyes don't seem to be infected or he dosn't seem in pain, so I don't know if its natural pigment or a medical condition.

We have a cat door and we have several other cats other than ours that use it. He usually comes in at night and I usually wake to hear him grooming in my bedroom. I turn on the light and there he is in the doorway looking back at me. My cats just look back from the bed and no one moves. He won't run unless I move but he won't respond to gently calling him either. He dosn't seem to come in for food or spraying, he just comes in to watch us. Its a little spooky with the red eyes :-)

Anyway, does anyone know if the red eyes could be a medical issue? If it is then I can alert his carer and see if he is already getting treatment. I always forget with there being about 20 cats that are normally the topic of converstion here.

Thanks
Greypaw

If you only see him at night, after you have just turned on the light, that may be why, my cats eyes look red when i do that, but hers are really green

No I've seen him in the day as well. Also, my cats eyes never look red to me. I think he may have copper eyes but there is a definate red tinge across the whole eye, not just the pupil.
