My kitty has a severer flea allergy. About 2-3 times a year he has to take prednisone. Will benadril help? If so, what dosage? IP: Logged |

The best thing to do for a flea allergy is to keep your cat from being bitten by fleas. Advantage or Frontline work the best for this. Benadryl can be used in dogs and I think cats. That is a question for your vet though. He/she can tell what dosage to use if you can give it. It may work if the reaction isn't very strong. If the reaction is severe your cat may need something stronger like prednisone. My dog takes hydroxyzine for allergies, you can ask your vet if this is appropriate for cats or not. IP: Logged |
