the bf and i were cleaning our room and threw our dirty clothes in the laundry room and meko went in there and pee'd on our things.....he has never has done this be for...he knows where the litter box is and it's clean...why did he jus do that???? IP: Logged |

That's interesting. I actually just basically had the same problem with my 11 year old Siamese cat at home. He was so upset by my relocation without him, that when I went home to visit he peed on a pile of my clothes. I am guessing he did this to mark his territory, and to show me that he was not happy with me being gone. This was the only time it had ever happened. Mind you this cat - being a Siamese - was MY cat - he was very loyal to me and barely lets anyone else touch him, (the only reason that he didn't come with me is that he has his bst friend at home - a 12 year old Siamese) Maybe if you haven't been spending as much time with Kitty as he would like, he is showing his anger with you, or just trying to get his scent on your clothes. I have found that my new kitten likes the smell of me so much that he runs off with t-shirts that I have worn to bed! (He was able to get to his litter box right? I mean he wasn't stuck in with the laundry, because that could be another reason) IP: Logged |

Sometimes cats pee on things because they don't like the way they smell and are trying to make them smell better. I'm serious, sometimes they don't like strong detergent smells, or maybe he thought your clothes didn't smell right. My cats will pee on my clothes in my laundry basket or on other piles of clothes of blankets left laying around. I put my laundry basket in the closet, and keep things picked up and we are all happy. I have a much cleaner house becuase of them. IP: Logged |
