I love my kitty, he is beautiful and has an awsome personality...but....hes is so messy with his litter. He steps in his poo and drags dirty litter out with him. I had to give him a bath 3x yesterday and once today (6oclock!!). I'm at my wits end...i'm almost ready to give him away...please if anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it!! Thank you!

First of all, don't give your cat away for messing himself. That's not cool. We domesticated these creatures and they need our cooperation to see that they are well taken care of. OK, now how old is he? If he is a small kitten, he may not have been taught how to use the litterbox properly. I know someone who had to teach their kitten how to dig and bury their number 1's & 2's because she got him at 5 or 6 weeks old. Lots of praise is required when he does the right thing. At this age, the mother cat has not had enough time to teach the kittens this behavior. If he has long hair, it's hard because kitten poo is always a little bit icky for a while. I'll stop there because I don't know how old your kitty is. Let me know!

Thank you for your response! Neeko is 3 months old (today) and yes he does have long hair and no he does not cover his poo. I got him from a pet shop a little over a week ago. And I would never get rid of him (I loved him from the moment I picked him up!) I was just so frustrated from cleaning up poo at 6am! I've never dealt with this kind of situation....thank for your help.
