Hello, I am new to this sight. So here is my first question. I have a 3 year old siamese cat who decided to stop eating, he is going on his 5th day today. We have been to the vet 2 times in the last 24 hours, just because we were so worried about him. You cannot tell he is sick at all, he plays, purrs, lets you hold him etc. The vet thought possibly there was something lodged somewhere, but nothing on the x rays. His white blood cell count is down alot. They tested for leukemia also, and that turned out fine. They said said he wasnt dehydrated, which surprises me since I have not seen him drink. I noticed on a past post that Pedalyte and baby food have worked for some, I have not tried that yet, but I think I will. He does use his litter box, but not much since he isn't eating. I have heard of kitty colds where if there nose is stuffed up they won't eat cause they can't smell there food. Last nite he started to do something different when we started to give him food, he started moving his mouth up and down like he had something caught. The vet thinks it is a gag reflex. Not sure cause he hasn't done that in the past. Any advice will help. Thanks. PS He is on amoxacilin now. IP: Logged |

Did the vet check the cats mouth also? I would definately try the baby food or maybe even canned cat food would work if it is dry that she is currently refusing. IP: Logged |

The vet did check his mouth briefly, Fitz was not very cooperative! He is refusing all foods, I did try the baby food he won't eat it himself, I put it on his paws and then he eats it. Weird...he act totally normal too! IP: Logged |
