Does anyone know of a shelter or place that will take ferral cats and not kill them? My parents have about 20 or so cats that they have been feeding. They multiply to fast and they can't afford to feed them anymore. They are elderly and on a fixed income. Please help.

That's very good of your parents. Chances are you aren't going to be able to ever adopt out those feral cats. There are lots of organizations that will trap them (with humane traps) and sedate them enough so that they can spay and neuter them. Look in the phone book and call around. Someone will have some info. After that, you'll have to see what the organization will do as far as releasing them or caring for the animals. I'm on the west coast so I don't know anything in particular over there. I just know some people who do it themselves to keep the pet population down.

Try your local animal shelter or SPCA for help. The SPCA here does low cost/free spaying and last year when I took some strays to be done there was a woman that brought in one of the five feral cats she had caught in a humane trap to be spayed. Im pretty sure they also loan out the humane traps. Maybe your SPCA or shelter offers something like this.

I had a similar problem with my last neighborhood. I found a kitty group that helps spay and neuter feral cats. They loaned me the traps and I caught the cats and took them into the clinic. They payed for the basic neuter/ spay and shots. They had the clinic dock the kitties ears so they would know they had been fixed. Sometimes these groups relocate animals if where they are living is not suitable anymore. Check with your local Humane Society, Humane Society of the United States, SPCA, and PetsMart to see if they know of any groups in your area.
