Please email me and let me know some remedies on how to refrain from geting my cat, her name is Kym and is 4 1/2 years old to stop getting anymore hair matting on her.
She now looks like a mohawk hair trim down the top of her back now since being at the vet yesterday morning.

Cut them off, let her hair grow back, and then start brushing her regularly?

I brush my cat 2 times per week and she doesn't matte anymore. She used to get big clumps if I let her go more than a week without brushing. My cat is long haired and I also trim her myself sometimes. I (very carefully) use scissors and a comb to trim her fur where she mattes the most. When she has shorter hair I don't even have to brush her as much. Hope this helps.
