I have a litter of two-week old kittens. All seem healthy but two have large scabs over where their umbilical cord used to be. Normal??? Thanks! IP: Logged |

They could have an infection. You might try putting some neosporin on the spot. If it is red and swollen or pussy, they should go to the vet. IP: Logged |

Are you sure what you think is a scab isn't just the dried up remains of the cord? Because that's normal. Also, like fleafly said, Neosporin will help heal them up faster. [This message has been edited by MistyGirl (edited 08-07-2003).] IP: Logged |
