Hi
I have a 4 year old female cat that is spayed and is peeing on rugs and clothes.
We just came back from a two week vacation and we left her and another cat to be taken care of by my grandmother (the cat is familiar with her). If she doesn't stop, I have to get rid of her. Please help!!

has she always done this or is it more recent?

Perhaps a trip to the vet to see if she has a UTI would be a good idea but also she may just be upset at you leaving her.

I have to agree with Isis on that it may be just a personal grudge for ditcin' her. when I go on vacation, I can almost promise that there will be little "I miss you, why did you leave." presents all over my carpet. give her a little time to re-adjust before you decide to send her away...

Check with the vet to be sure and then give her some extra attention. My daughter has a cat that has to be played with a lot or crated when she first gets back. Otherwise, the cat decorated her bed, her clothes, and the couch. Lots of attention fixes the problem but we have to put her in a crate if we can't give it to her IMMEDIATELY. She will pee right in front of our faces if we try to do anything but play with her when we first get home.

Use a good enzyme cleaner to get the smell out.

We are taking her to the vet tommorow and getting her some medicine, but if that doesn't help there's not much we can do because she is one of those cats that runs from anything, even her shadow!

If she is especially sensitive to things in general and is very skitty she may well just be very upset at you leaving her. Even if she is not the friendliest cat in the world she may well have bonded with you more than you think!
