Please help!

I just got an 11 week old seal point himalayan kitten yesterday. She had her second set of shots yesterday at the vet where we got her. She seemed fine. We got home she stayed under my bed the whole time and at night I put her in a large plastic dog crate. Took her out this morning and seemed fine again, although I didn't really pay any attention to how she was walking or anything just let her out. Well, now this afternoon she isn't using her front legs!

I put her in the crate where the litter box is and she carefully made her way into the box. When she tried to get out she fell flat on her face like her front legs weren't strong enough to hold the pressure. Now, she's in the crate just laying there and won't walk, eat or drink.

Called the vet and he said that the shot shouldn't have done it. That the shot could have given her a small fever and make her lathargic but that would be about it. He said to give it till morning and to see if she's acting the same way. He also said to bring her in just to have her checked out anyway.

But I need some opinions on this. She's in there shaking like a leaf! And this is not the first of many problems I have had with the vets kittens! My first from the same litter broke his femural head the day we brought him home. The second got a very serious severe upper respiratory infection a few days after being home. And now this with the third and last kitten I will ever get from him!

Help!

Sounds like you may have gotten an unhealthy kitten. Can you take her to a different vet to be checked out? I hope she's okay.

Hubby called the vet again and told him she was not looking good at all. My dad looked at her and said I would be lucky if she made it through the night.

So he is on his way to the vets office with her. Then right when he left the vets wife called and said to bring her registration papers with him. So I'm guessing he's gonna take the kitten back. I'm fine with it though. I finally got the other two healthy and the last thing I need is another one that is gonna have problem after problem. So now I'm waiting on a call from hubby to see what is going on.........

Okay, just got a call from hubby!

He said the vet checked her over thoroughly and had her on her feet but quickly lost foot and fell to the floor. Then the vet tried to get her to go after a toy and she tried but couldn't do it.

His conclusion was either she had a bad allergic reaction to the vaccine (which he has never seen like this), got too stressed with the change in enviroment or finally admitted there might be a problem within the whole litter. Stressed I can fully understand! I mean when she got to the vets office she perked up and tried to play but her front legs wouldn't let her. So she definately knew where she was at and that she was back home. But as far as why her legs started this we don't know.

So he told hubby he thought it was best just to refund the money and to take the kitten back. So I got my money back and all is well with my other two from him. Just gotta keep reminding myself not to buy another kitty from him again.

I sure do hope she recovers fully! I feel so sorry for her and having to give her back. But at this point I really had no other choice! Like hubby said at least we didn't become too attached to her just yet.

If the little darling got better, would you take her back..I mean, if it was just the allergic reaction and she recovered..just curious. (understanding that 2 kittens already is a handful

I'd take her back in a heartbeat at a reduced price and with some kind of guarantee.

The only thing that makes me leary is the fact that all three of these kittens have had problems. Which makes me believe that there was something not quite right with the whole litter.

I mean the first one broke his femural head within five minutes of being home. The only thing he did was get in the litter box, did his business and jumped out. When he jumped out he did hit his back legs on the top of the litter box.

The second one came down with a severe upper respiratory infectionm in which the emergency vet said he wouldn't have made it until Monday (this was on a Saturday night).

And now this one. You gotta admit that this is just not coincidence. Three out of the same litter??

How old are these kittens? Kittens that are too young can have problems. Litter boxes for very young kittens should be very low.
