m looking after 3 kittens.and i noticed that one of them has a small amount of blood in its poo.i dont really want to take it to the vets uless its really serious.i have 7 of my own cats do you think its contageus.do you know whats wrong with the kitten.the kitten doesnt seem botherd and is acting like its normal self.thanks lucie

My sister's cat has mushy poo and was having blood in it. You better take them to the vet, this could be Coccidia or Gardia (spelling?) My sister's cat was on anitbiotics but then got better. Then the kitten was having the problem again. Now at such a young age.dont do this, but i believe the vet told my sister to start feeding her kitten adult cat food, because kitten food is very fatty and it can upset their stomachs...Like i said tho, i wouldn't do this with yuor cats, they are VVVVVVERY young....I say take to the vet.

i think you should take the cat to the vet.any pet having blood in it's stool needs to see a vet.and since you don't know what's causing it your other cats could get it if it's contagious.

I had the same problem with both of my newest cats. I took them both to the vet and he told me to not feed them hard food and to not leave the food out as they were over eating and that was causing the blood. Too much food going through. I did as he told and the blood stopped right away. It may be that OR it might be something more. I would take them to a vet cause you never know and you don't want anythign to happen to them.

I agree with the other posters. This sounds serious enough to take the cat to the vet. Besides, if it is something contagious you'll be happy you took him now before he spreads it to all the other cats (hopefully he didnt already) and you really have a large vet bill. Good luck.
