Okay, lemme explain. Kittens from a stray litter have strange affliction of the toes and tail!! I have no idea what it is but it looks like it is killing the flesh of their toes and tails. Skin is flaking off in large chunks and skin is dried up and turning brown (on feet and tail, but otherwise they appear healthy) The tail, along with the dried skin has strange growths on it. I don't know what to think. It does not seem to be painful but one of the cats has lost feeling in her toes. (she can walk, but cannot move her toes) Not to mention that the hair i falling out in the affected areas. Please contact before I loose all my hair. I am currently trying to get together money to pay fr a vet but I doubt that trip will be soon. Please help!!

I would suggest taking one of them to the vet, just for an examination. If all of them have the same affliction the vet will be able to reccomend some treatment options. Pay for 1 examination it will give you an idea what the Kitten has.

Thanks for your post, I don't know what to think. You see I've raised kittens before and I've never encountered something like this. Thats why I'm guessing that its some kind of fungus they contracted before we put them in a box. I hop its nothing too serious...I've grown way attached to them.....hence the username...

You can also try contacting your local SPCA or animal shelter to see if they can help you if your budget is tight.

I just thought of something, calling your vet is free. Tell them your concerns and money limitations and they should know what your cat has.

Have you taken them to the vet yet? If so what did they say? Keep us posted!

What you might also do is research the symptons online..just describe the main characteristics in the search engine and see what you come up with...every time the vet would suggest what the problem was with my kitty, I'd go research it. most kitty information sites are very detailed.

Okay...I'm so sorry to tell everyone this.....I called the vet a few days ago....And they said that it was most likely to be Mange....I'm sorry to worry everybody, but, since their mother took them away I don't think there is much hope for my babies. I nearly broke my foot and got mauled by a dog to save one of them, she (Millie is her name) had crawled across the neightbor's backyard by the time I'd came to check on her. Luckly I knew the dobermans.....heh...no the didn't attack, not all Dobies are viscous. But I put her in her box go back inside to take a shower, come out and all of them are gone. Next time I see their mother....*shakes fist*. Sorry about this.....has anybody ever heard of Mange just....going away?
