I'm taking care of a old cat for the entire summer and it's hardly eating anything at all. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to get the cat to eat? Thanks for your help.

Are you taking care of her at her home or yours? If it is your home....maybe she is just trying to adjust to her new surroundings. Are you feeding her the same food she was eating prior to you taking care of her? Another possible reason for lack of appetite is the warm weather. All of my pets seem to eat less during the summer months.
Most cats can be enticed with canned food which you may want to try (if she isnt eating that already) if this behavior continues. Good luck.

If you're really worried and want the cat to eat something (and cats do eat less in the summer. So, I don't know how much this cat isn't eating) try something with a really potent smell, like tuna. Maybe mix some canned food with tuna juice?

Cats eat with a strong sense of smell. When my one cat had pnemonia, we had to use smelly things to trigger her hunger. That's what our vet suggested to us.
