Hi Everyone: I thought I'd pass along a bit of knowledge. Today, I had a scare when my cat devoured my calla lily. She was hungry and tried to tell me by following me around. She finally made her point when she gave my plant a haircut. Needles to say I was scared silly when I saw her throwing it all up. She ate dinner later that evening but threw up again. I went to the internet to look up poisonious plants to cats and found that the calla lily was on the list but thankfully not a potentially fatal plant to cats. HOwever, after reviewing this list, I didn't realise how many indoor and outdoor plants I had that were poisonious to cats! So below is a website that lists these plants. http://hhpcc.org/happenings/janfeb98/plants.html HOwever, if you want more information on symptoms cats may display after ingesting, the plants latin names, etc., this site was VERY useful. Cheers! Cat IP: Logged |
