My cat had a temp. of 105 the other night so i took it to the emergency vet. My cat is an indoor cat and has no health problems until now. She is only 3 years old. I had to get all these tests done on her and the vet seems to think she is a diabetic because she has a high level of sugar in her urine. He said that she needs to be tested a gain to make sure. He also siad that she doesn't fit the usual profile of a diabetic though. With this in mind..I want to think she isn't. He also said that she may have a kidney infection or a urinary track infection which I he gave her antibiotics for. I wonder if it is a possibilty that sugar in urine could be cause of her being ill with this other stuff.. Could her body be out of wack? I am also nervous cause she hasn't eaten anything in two days. I tried to feed her,but she won't eat. What do u do in this instance? Do i try to force feed her? At what point should she definitely be eating and how long can a cat go without food before it becomes vital? I want to think she will eat when she feels better.. but it has been two days and she was even in the vet over night last night and she didn'y eat there either..

You should call your vet and tell him that your cat is not eating. Two days is too long. Cats that do not eat for two days or more can develop a problem with their liver. The cat has to be force fed until she starts to eat on her own. Maybe the antibiotics are upsetting her stomach. Do you know if she still have a fever. My cat had 105 fever too and he wouldn't eat anything. Maybe your vet can show you how to feed her with a syringe. Ask him about A/D. It's high in calories and stimulates their appitite. Good Luck. Let us know how everything goes.

With a high temperature like that she definitely would not be eating. Also some antibiotics can take away the appetite. Is she a fattish cat, or skinny? If fattish, then a few days without food won't hurt. But I would definitely ring the vet and get their advice. They need to know what's happening, and may even prescribe different medication.
