Our 9 month old cat Felix ( an indoor unneutered male) slipped out of my apartment unnoticed yesterday. He was missing for about thirty minutes before he was found in the woods beside my apartment. We approached him- he was making strange noises- almost like singing. My boyfriend reached to pet him, which he allowed, but when he tried to pick him up he attacked him- leaving horrible wounds. Twenty four hours later, he is still behaving as if he is a wild cat- lurking about thirty to fifty feet from my apartment. I tried to lure him back inside with food, and he lunged at me when I moved the bowl. He allowed me to pet him, and then bit me when I wasn't looking. He does not act fearful of us- almost as if he is happy to see us- but becomes violent about being brought inside. He was the most loving cat in the world before he got outside...we can't understand why he would behave this way!

He came back tonight and wanted back inside...but I must admit I'm a little scared of him. My boyfriend just got out of the emergency room with blood poisoning from the bite, and my three year old is coming back to my house tomorrow. He seems to be acting normally- will he be alright until I can get him to the vet on Monday? Or should I leave him outside? I have ferrets as well and I'm afraid to turn them out around him- even though they've enjoyed each other in the past. I just don't want him to hurt anything else.

Get him Neutered Immediatley. He is on the Prowl for a Girl and that is where his singing noises are stemming from. He got the taste for outdoor living and being uneutered, he knows now what he was missing. Please get him Neutered, he will definaltey calm down and wont have an interest in going outside. I do not let any of my cats outdoors, there is too many parasites and diseases they can instantly pick up from other cats, he can also get cats Aids from an infected outdoor cat that scratches him up and he will come home all battered. or worse he can get Feline Leukemia. Please keep him safe indoors and get him fixed asap. Let me know how he is. Hope I Helped
