HELP!! My two cats have become terrible!! One pees down the heat vent, and the other poops in the closet..I have them on Clovicalm (cat Prozac) but I can't give it to them in their food because they only like the hard food..any suggestions on how to administer the pills without having to stick it down their throat?
Also what is a good detergent for the carpets?
Any tips would be appreciated-thank you!

Giving cats pills can be tedious! Have you tried giving the pill (whole or crushed) in a bit of people tuna, raw ground beef or baby food?

As for detergent, I've used a vinegar and water solution in the past but baking soda and water might neutralize the smell too.

Good luck!

Oh boy...when I read "peeing into the heating vents", I said "oh god" out loud. Of all the WORST places because of course heat I(if you are using it )only makes the odor a hundred times worse.
Pet stores carry a product called NATURE'S MIRACLE which I have found to be very effective in breaking down the enzymes in cat urine that cause that "special" odor. Follow instructions on the bottle and be vigilent about it. It should work.

thanks for your responses!! I have been trying the pills in tuna and it seems to work..I only give them a little bit and wait till they're hungry enough to eat it. I'll try the vinegar if I can't find the "natures Miracle" stuff

Naturs miracle works really well for getting out the smell and urine. ou shoud be able to find it at any chain pet store. Also simple solution carpet cleaner works very well if you have stains. I have a rotty I adopted 2 months ago who got diarrhea a few days ago and went twice in the house. I tried everything to get the stain out and that simple solution was the only thing that worked. Good luck.
