I'm afraid no one in my family likes my old cat. She smells terribly and dribbles all the time from her mouth, She doesn't eat anymore just drinks milk or water, and she is extremely thin. She doesn't seem to be suffering, but everyone around me says I should put her down. She came to us as an adult so we don't know how old she is. But she has been here for ten years. Could you suggest what to do?

Only a vet can advise you what to do. If she's not eating, she is ill.She could be suffering too. Take her to the vet, and they will give you the options. Meantime, give your poor old cat lots of love, as I'm sure you are doing.

Take your cat to the vet, it may just be a bad tooth. It is better to know for sure than guess. My cat passed away last week at 16 yrs old but skin cancer was her problem. I miss her greatly, we had been through alot together, but now she isn't suffering anymore.

It's about the quality of her life. Definitely see a vet. If she is suffering, you may have to make the tough decisions. I hope that's not the case, but if it is, give her lots of love and make her last days as comfortable as they can be. Good luck to you.
