my cat developed a large absess by his ear, on the skin exposed part near the entrance of his ear. it looked like a large pimple and i drained it completely out until pink blood was coming out. i cleaned it with peroxide. the next morning the rest of the blood drained and i cleaned it again. my cat does not show any signs of discomfort or change in behavior. is there anything i should be concerned about or to look for?

You want to be sure and leave it open so it will drain. You want to take your hand and move it over the top of the wound without touching the wound or any part of the cat. You are looking for heat rising up, that is your clue that there is still an infection. You don't want it to start accumulating a hardness around it, if that happens you need to break it open and drain it well. You also should get some antibiotic from your vet so the cat will not get a worse infection.

My cat had one of them, it looked like a volcano on his face! His cleared up in a couple of weeks, but if yours doesnt, maybe you should see the vet.

Go see a vet!
My cat had an absess in his side and showed no discomfort. He felt a little warm and until his wound broke open slightly I didn't know he was wounded. The absess became a large mass inside so much so that he had to be cut open about 3 inches to be drained. They gave him a shot and followed it up with a week of anti-biotics.
