my half-persian is dragging his furry tail all over the floor. he isn't in pain and is eating normally. he jumps up and down the house, but doesn't seem to want to roam outside much any more.

What's happening? Did he dislocate his tail?

I have had 2 cat's with the same problem over the years. It does mean the tail has been hurt in some way, traped or hit by a car etc. The first time it happened I took my cat to the vet, he took an x-ray but it was not broken so he gave an antinflamitry injection and my cat's tail started to recover after afew day's. In the second case I kept my cat in doors and within a week in was back to normal. I think you should give it some time but if there is no inpovement go to the vet's because it could be broken, I hope this of use to you!
