sometimes stress may cause the bird to pick his/her feathers, maybe the toys could cause a worse effect than better, it is hard for any suggestions without seeing the bird, the best thing to do is to try something new every few days. Not every day cause it might cause more stress. If nothing seems to work than seing a vet would be the best thing possible

Hi Birds like the company of humans aswell as other birds.

Is your bird close to you or a family member if so he is not bored he is upset as he has been left alone.

If getting another bird is not an option making a tape with the family talking can help as the bird then thinks someone is home and wont feel so lonely..

leaving the radio can help for so long and then birds get bored of hearing music..

Re-arranging toys in the cage can also help i dont like mirrors as this can make a single bird frustrated as he can see himself in it and wonders why the other bird wont respond this can also be the reason he plucking his feathers..

If you would like more help please feel free to email me and i will be happy to help.
