We are new Cockatil bird owners. Crystal is approx. 1.5 yrs old. We just got her this past June. She id definately a female. My concern is the she keeps going into these fit of small uddering cries. Lately she has been hanging out at the bottom of her cage every so often and rocking with her wings slightly open. Should I run her to the vet? Is it possible she may be trying to lay an egg or do birds go into heat? Some one please give us some advice?!?!?!?!?!?

hi there my female cockatiels do that a coule of days before they lay there first egg but if your bird is from a place where it was with other birds it could be lonely as it takes awhile for a bird to adjust to being on there own,so they need you as there friends they love people chatting to them and love it even more when they get treats i know mine do...

if you are worried you can ring your vet if he/she knows anything about birds and ask them for advice i dont think it will be anything to worry about aslong as she is eating and drinking she should be fine keep us posted
