Very sad night for me!!

Well after almost 15 years with my sweet Patches we had to put her to sleep tonight... She has been sick for a week and even before that just a fragile girl.... she is at peace now.... we will miss her deeply!!!
R.I.P. Patches!!!

Thanks everyone.....I am soo lost without her!!! She helped me through soo many difficult times in my life, she was my companion and friend!! I know that it was the best thing for her. She was very sick and the other animals knew it, they would hang around in the room with her instead of out with us. Harley was sleeping in Buster's cage (no door these days) behind her. Buster would go and stick his head in there and sniff her, Chopper would sit outside the cage looking in at her.
The hardest part was that while we were holding and petting her waiting for the vet and even when they started the injection she purred the loudest I've ever heard her purr!!! It broke my heart but I knew that she was saying "Goodbye mom, don't worry about me, I'll still be there for you, I love you!"
I have a big hole in my heart, I've made a great picture collection together today it turned out amazing!! The timing of her passing is very hard I needed her because my mom is loosing her battle with Cancer and is now on Hospice......Thank heavens I have Harley, Chopper and Buster!!!! And of course my sweet man who bawled right along with me!!!

Thank you guys it is sooo hard!!! She was such a big part of my life and coming home not seeing her come down the hallway to greet me is very heart breaking. I've had soo much loss in my life and to add this one, just tears my heart out!!! She was one of a kind even the vet always told me that she was the nicest Calico she had ever met. I am having such a hard time with loosing her!!!! She was my girl always there for me!!! This is going to be a hard one to move on from.
Chopper and Harley are good fur boys but not cuddly and purry like she was. Buster is well Buster can't really curl up with him....

Im so sorry to hears this BIG HUGS to you , she had a great life and was well loved, its always hard to lose a much loved pet, especially one that helped you thru your hard times in life..

It is so hard to have loved one of our fur friends and then have them no longer with us. I know exactly how you are feeling, as I have been there too. It's so sad. I'm going to miss her too. You did the right thing though and she's no longer suffering. She was a lucky girl to have been so loved for so long. Sending good thoughts to you and your family. Hang in there. Crying or Very sad

Thank you for all of your reply's!! Life without Patches is an adjustment to say the least.... she is missed dearly!!! I still look for her at night and when I get home. The others are adjusting finally but are very sensitive to when one of them is gone for a time. I took Buster with me to sit with my mom and when we got home Harley was all over him like oh my I thought you went away.... Patches has returned home where she belongs and the BF is making her a special box fit for the queen that she was. It is good having her back home just wish it was the way it used to be...

Hi. I know what you mean about still looking for her at night. It's strange how long it takes our minds to click in that they are no longer with us. I remember after having Handsome pass away I would do the same thing and then just feel so sad remembering a split second later that he was really gone. Crying or Very sad

It does get better over time. It's so hard to go through though. Hang in there.

Well as time has gone by I still miss my sweet girl but know that she is happy and still watching over me. Always in my heart she will be!!

To all the wonderful pets out there that have gone over The Rainbow bridge we miss you and will see you all again one day!! And what a joyous day that will be!!!! (guess I better make sure I've taken my allergy meds Mr. Green
