Your reaction to it was kind of what I expected, unfortunately. But I don't think you're approaching your tank the right way. You need to look at it as an ecosystem that you're responsible for. Too ...

Find a pet ...

Generally speaking, Malawi cichlids get too big and are too aggressive for a 30g tank. You can keep a variety of tangyanikans, virtually all species of shelldwellers. You could also keep brichardi i ...

I agree with Shineillusion, I don't think your GTB is dyed. I do appreciate your concern for dyed fish as it is a horrible practice.

Here's a picture of some dyed fish:

A predatory fish that you could keep in a 20g tank would be a Leaf fish or a Bush fish. Petsmart sells a Leopard Bush fish as a Spotted Leaf fish, not sure why they screw the name up. I still wouldn ...

Large frogs like to eat small fish, and large fish like to eat small frogs... so you need to be careful.

But first things first:

1) What size aquarium do you have/will you be getting? If you're ...

I'm not a big fan of adding chemicals to my aquariums, so if I see a hurt or sick fish I quarantine it and try to treat it separately.

For me:

1 fish with ich = quarantined treatment

If you have a quarantine tank available, I strongly suggest you remove your infected fish immediately into that tank.

To treat ich, you'll need to find some ich medicine to treat the water with as ...
