Hi
Fagan is doing something at the moment which if somebody could explain to me would be appreciated.
He plays with a couple of bells throwing them around the floor and chasing them, he has over the past couple of days taking to nodding at the bell and then regurgitating something in his beak, what is this white stuff he is regurgitating? is it normal? and will it stop?
He is a 3 yr old Indian Ringneck (Male). He play constantly with these bells and did it a while ago, stopped and now it seems to be starting again. he are going into our spring, and he is starting to have his "small molt", would this have something to do with this, or is he lacking something?
Pls help. |

Hi, your bird is displaying a mating ritual, His nodding of the head and regurgitating is something he would do with a female.
THis is normal behaviour duing the warmer months.

| Is there a time frame on how long he will continue with this behaviour, it's quite distressing to watch him do this continually. |

Usually this onlyhappens in the warmer months but since he is indoors and the temp is the same all the time then he will keep doing this.
One way to try and stop this is to remove all toys/mirrors and keep them away from him that way he has nothing he can think of as a mate.
