A friend of mine's kitty sadly died about a year ago. Since then, some information has come up regarding the person she was living with at the time, and she suspects the death may not have been as initially thought.
Initially, the person she was with at the time told her that the cat had choked on it's food, and he had tried to help her but was unsuccessful. THis was a young cat with no past digestive problems, to begin with.

My question is, she hadd been on an antibiotic for approximately 3 days at the time this happened to treat an infection to injured claws (the vet said they appeared as though she had been chewing on them due to stress from moving). My friend cannot remember the name of the antibiotic, and cannot find her cats records. She is going to be looking for them, but I thought I would ask here incase any of you have had to treat a similar infection in your cats. Can you think of a type of antibiotic which a vet would prescribe to treat such an infection? My friend says the letter P stands out to her as the first letter, but she is not sure and could be wrong.

Sorry for the lengthiness of this, she is just very concerned right now and any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Last year when my cat pulled one of her claws out at the root and it got infected, the vet gave her Clavamox tablets for the soft tissue infection. But that doesn't mean your friend got the same thing. As Mary suggested, she should be able to call the vet's office where she was treated and ask them what she had.
